What is a squishy, really?
A squishy is a soft, squeezable toy that flattens when you press it and bounces back for more. Most are "slow-rising" — they ooze back into shape over a few glorious seconds — and that's the whole magic. They're fidget toys, stress-melters, and sensory sidekicks, and they come in every shape under the sun: food, fruit, animals, cubes, you name it.
Squeeze the strawberry. Watch it slowly un-squeeze. Repeat forever.
What are they made of?
Usually PU foam (the classic slow-rise kind), TPR (bouncy, stretchy rubber), or silicone gel (the clear jelly ones, often stuffed with glitter or beads for extra sparkle). Different feels for different moods.
"Wait — what's the white stuff inside?"
Great question, tiny detective. 🕵️ If a foam squishy ever tears, that white spongy inside is just the PU foam core — the body of the toy, not some mystery filling. So please, resist the urge to perform surgery on your squishy.
